Electric Future is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information.
We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The NPPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.

Purpose
Primary Purpose. We collect personal information to lawfully carry out our functions and provide our energy, EV-charging and energy-efficiency services.
Secondary Purposes. We may also use your information to:
- deliver and improve our services;
- manage customer accounts, billing, and warranties;
- communicate and conduct surveys or promotions;
- verify identity, manage complaints and regulatory obligations; and
- comply with applicable laws and program requirements (e.g. REPS, VEU, ES
We do not sell or rent personal information.
What We Collect
We may collect your:
- name, address, email, phone number;
- business or property details, photographs, floorplans;
- energy-usage or metering data;
- billing and payment details;
- device, browser, and site-usage information; and
- communications and service history.
Sensitive information is only collected with consent and handled per the Act.
How We Collect
Information is collected:
- directly from you (forms, calls, email, web, surveys);
- from network partners, retailers, installers, and regulators;
- from publicly available sources or service providers.
Where lawful, you may deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym.
Family or Domestic Violence Protections
Electric Future recognises that some customers may be affected by family or domestic violence. We will:
- allow affected customers to use a pseudonym or request suppression of identifying data;
- mark records as “suppressed” or under the nominated pseudonym, consistent with Schedule 1 of the REPS Code;
- limit disclosures and apply strict internal access controls; and
- provide a direct, confidential channel to our Privacy Officer for safe-contact management.

Direct Marketing and Telemarketing Consent
We may contact you about our services where permitted by law and relevant program rules.
You can opt out at any time by email, phone, or the unsubscribe link. Telemarketing consent will always be sought and is valid for up to 90 days unless withdrawn earlier.
Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose your information to:
- subcontractors, installers, or auditors delivering REPS or other activities;
- electricity or gas retailers, network service providers, and regulators;
- government agencies or various Schemes program administrators (e.g. ESCOSA, IPART, ESC, CER);
- data-hosting, IT security, or marketing vendors;
- professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, insurers, auditors); and
- other parties where you authorise or law requires.
Overseas disclosures (e.g. cloud hosting) occur only with reasonable safeguards against unauthorised access.
Website and Cookies
We use cookies and analytics to operate and improve our digital services. You may disable cookies in your browser; some features may not work properly.
Security Information
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. Information is retained for at least seven years (exceeding the REPS minimum of five years) and then securely destroyed or de-identified.
Notifiable Data Breaches
We comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme under the Privacy Act. If an eligible data breach occurs, we will notify the OAIC and affected individuals as required.
Access and Correction
You may request access to, or correction of, your information by contacting us. We may require ID verification and will respond within a reasonable time. If we refuse, we will provide written reasons and information on how to complain.
Retention and Destruction
Personal information is destroyed or de-identified when the collection purpose no longer applies or upon your written request, unless law requires retention.
Third-Party Sites and social Media
Our websites or materials may link to third-party sites whose privacy practices differ from ours. We are not responsible for their content or privacy policies. Use discretion when posting information on public pages.
