NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) Made Simple for
Installation Companies

Join hundreds of NSWers installers already earning rebates on every eligible job.

The NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) and Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) provide financial incentives for energy-efficient upgrades installed across New South Wales. As an Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP), Electric Future makes it simple for installers to unlock these incentives across air conditioning, heat pumps, solar, batteries, lighting, and more.

Lower Customer Costs

By applying VEU incentives upfront, you can offer customers significant discounts on their installations—making you more competitive and closing more jobs faster.

Extra Income Per Job

Earn rebate income on top of your standard installation fees. Rebates range from hundreds to thousands of dollars depending on the upgrade type and size.

Zero Paperwork Hassle

Electric Future handles 100% of the certificate creation, compliance validation, regulatory submissions, and payment processing. You just install and submit basic details through our app.

What is the NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS)?

The NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) is a NSW Government initiative designed to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by encouraging the installation of energy-efficient equipment across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The program runs until 2025 and is expected to be extended.
Alongside the ESS, the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) targets reductions in peak electricity demand during summer, helping to reduce pressure on the electricity grid and lower costs for all NSW energy users.

Here’s how it works: when you install eligible energy-efficient products in NSW homes or businesses, Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs) and Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs) are created. These certificates represent verified energy savings and peak demand reductions under the schemes. The certificates have monetary value and are traded in the ESC/PRC market. Electric Future, as an Accredited Certificate Provider, manages this entire process on your behalf.

The outcome is simple: your customers receive a lower upfront cost for their installation, and you gain a stronger, more competitive offering—plus direct rebate income that boosts your profit on every eligible job.

Eligible Activities We Support Through the
ESS Program

We help NSW installation businesses unlock ESS and PDRS incentives across a comprehensive range of energy-efficient upgrades.

Reverse-Cycle Air
Conditioning Systems

Earn substantial REPS incentives on reverse-cycle air conditioning installations across residential and small business settings.

Hot Water
Systems

Hot water upgrades deliver excellent REPS incentives and help your customers dramatically reduce water heating costs—around 23% of a typical home’s energy use goes to heating water.

Battery Storage & Virtual Power
Plant (VPP) Connections

One of the most valuable REPS activities—connecting a new or existing battery to an approved Virtual Power Plant. VPP participation is a standout feature of the SA scheme compared to other states.
